24SevenSocial blog report March ’14

March just flew by, and boy, did we have a lot of fun! Well, here are the stats and learnings from our blog last month.

First of all, we’ve been working a lot on the functionality and looks of our blog. By using Crazyegg to see how people actually use, click and scroll through the blog we decided to redesign it entirely. The new design focuses on giving you a clear sender, lifting up good content and showing you the faces the people who actually create the content here.

It’s to early to say, but the bounce rate has gone massively down (which is a good thing) with over 150%. Now only 26% of visitors leave without doing anything. We think this has a lot to do with the redesign and that it’s easier to get an overview over our content. What do you think?

Ok, here are the numbers for March ‘14:

Unique visitors: 2 985 (+36%)
Visits: 3 701 (+22%)
Pageviews: 6 478 (+2%)
Posts published: 8
Top 3 referrals: Facebook (1 095 visits), 24SevenSocial.com (365 visits) and Twitter (271 visits)

Leads generated: 3 (-2)

We were a bit surprised by the number of leads going down. After an internal discussion we think this might have to do with case studies. Last month we published the Samsung case study, this month we’ve published none. The Samsung case drove a lot of traffic to our blog in February. Look out for more case studies! 🙂

Another thing that we focused on is making it easier to discover more content, and we wanted the new design to make more people discover our categories. This was very successful with over 300% increase in traffic on all categories and over 800% increase in our main category tips and tricks.

We are going to continue tweaking and improving this month, in addition to focus on creating more content.
